Greenway Mikulov – Prague

This route, the original Vienna – Prague Greenways route, is a variation of the previous route. It's a favorite for those who prefer long-distance cycling with a dynamically changing landscape. The route begins in the renowned wine-growing region of South Moravia, continues through the Podyjí National Park, spans the demanding Czech-Moravian Highlands, and finishes in picturesque Posázaví, a few kilometers from Prague.
Itinerary
Day 1: Mikulov
Transfer from Prague (or Vienna or Linz) to Mikulov, a town of wine and history. Meet your travel guide, prepare the bicycles, get acquainted with the program, receive the information material and maps. Tour of town with guide. Overnight in Mikulov.
Day 2: Mikulov – Valtice - Lednice – Mikulov

The first day of biking sets out through the flat and gently rolling hills around Valtice-Lednice with breath-taking castles set into the romantic landscape. The route enters the hilly area of the Pálava Protected Landscape Area with its archeological areas in Dolní Věstonice, past vineyards and orchards, and back to Mikulov. The day offers several opportunities to taste excellent local wines. Overnight in Mikulov.
Day 3: Mikulov – Znojmo

This day takes us along flat terrain along the Austrian border and the Dyje (Thaya) River. The route leads along the Greenways route to Znojmo, another wine-making region with a rich history. Another possibility is to cross the border in Mikulov and continue along the Austrian wine route „Weinviertlradweg“ with occasional wine-tasting stops at Laa an der Thaya and Šanov, where you continue to Znojmo by train. Overnight in Znojmo.
Day 4: Znojmo – Vranov nad Dyjí

In the midst of wineyards and wine cellars, enter the Podyjí National Park. This relatively short but interesting route leads through the picturesque Dyje River valley with magnificent views into the countryside. En route you can stop off at the Nový Hrádek (New Castle) ruins and enjoy the atmosphere here. The trip finishes in Vranov nad Dyjí with its dominant castle perched above the Vranovska Lake. Overnight in Vranov nad Dyjí.
Day 5: Vranov nad Dyjí - Slavonice - Telč

We leave the Dyjí River and ride through an open, slightly hilly landscape to the edge of the Czech-Moravian Highlands to Slavonice, a small town full of Renaissance homes with rich sgrafitto and finely decorated interiors. Then we continue to another UNESCO´s pearl - renaissance Telc. Overnight in Telc.
Day 6: Telč – Jindřichův Hradec

Today provides us with a magnificent route leading through the wild nature of „Czech Canada“. Hilly terrain with one of the oldest stone castles in Bohemia, Landštejn, alongside the Austrian border into Jindřichův Hradec, a historic town with a Renaissance castle. Overnight in Jindřichův Hradec.
Day 7: Jindřichův Hradec – Tábor

Today we continue on through the wavy landscape of pine groves and picturesque lakes. Halfway through the trip we greet one of South Bohemia's pearls, the romantic chateau of Červená Lhota, built on a tiny island in the middle of a lake. After refreshments and a short rest we continue to the historic town of Tábor, known as the center of the Hussite movement.
Day 8: Tábor – Týnec nad Sázavou

Today we leave South Bohemia, travel through the forested landscape of Central Bohemia full of picturesque villages and pine groves, and continue northward to Konopiště with its romantic castle.
Day 9: Týnec nad Sázavou - Praha

Your last day on the bicycle leads through magnificent landscape with several Central Bohemian natural parks and to the romantic Sázava River Valley. Feel free to enrich your day with a boat trip along the Sázava River. In the evening hours you will arrive to your hotel in Prague.
